Project Description
Overview
Camps Newfound Owatonna is a long-established New England camp organization offering overnight programs for youth, adults, families, and alumni, with participants traveling from around the world. They needed a website that could reflect the warmth of their community while clearly supporting a wide range of audiences and use cases.
The Challenge
Newfound Owatonna's website had to serve many different users with very different goals — from parents registering children for camp, to alumni reconnecting, to staff candidates exploring employment opportunities. Over time, the structure needed greater clarity, stronger mobile usability, and more flexibility to support seasonal updates, recruitment initiatives, and special announcements without disrupting the core experience.
Our Approach & Solution
We redesigned and developed the Newfound Owatonna website with a focus on clarity, flexibility, and long-term sustainability. The site was structured to support four distinct programs — Newfound, Owatonna, Family Camp, and Creative Arts — each with its own visual cues and content hierarchy, while maintaining a unified brand system across the platform.
Strategic attention was given to key engagement goals, including alumni participation, staff recruitment, and mobile usability. We collaborated closely with their internal team to ensure the site could evolve alongside their programming calendar and organizational needs.
Key Outcomes
The redesigned website provides a welcoming, intuitive experience for all audiences while giving the internal team the flexibility to manage content independently. Over time, the platform has continued to grow through ongoing support, seasonal updates, and targeted initiatives — including recruitment landing pages, promotional banners, and application workflows for leadership searches. This long-term partnership has helped ensure the site remains functional, relevant, and aligned with Newfound Owatonna's mission year after year.
